An official UK clip for the Ron Howard film The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years is on YouTube.

The clip transports us back to the summer of 1965; the height of the period the film documents. Shea Stadium, The Beatles redefining how high a band’s glass ceiling should be, setting wheels in motion which would rumble on to the stadium rock explosion of the 1970s and the super gigs which are so commonplace today.

The documentary will premiere at London’s Leicester Square on September 15th, starting the story at the Cavern Club and the Fab Four’s battle to get established on the Liverpool circuit.

It moves on to Hamburg, the chaos of Beatlemania and ultimately their growing dissatisfaction with life on the road which would see them retire from touring after their last conventional concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in 1966.
