Foals were topping the bill on a challenging night having made the gradual step-up across a succession of brilliant albums and talked about festival sets since 2010’s ‘Total Life Forever‘, last year’s ‘What Went Down‘ feeling like the perfect end to that stage of the band’s career.

Looking ahead, frontman Yannis Philippakis has challenged his band to ‘rock the boat’ on the next record, telling Q Magazine:

“I want us to break the chains of familiarity and to have that question mark in the room again. I think that it’ll be beneficial for the band just to be nervous about being in the room together again. I think we need to rock our own boat.”
