T In The Park‘s organiser has promised that he’s ‘learnt massive lessons’ from last year’s festival as the Stone Roses gear up for their headline appearance tonight.

The enforced move from the event’s long-term site in Baloo last year to Strathallan Castle was beset by floods of complaints about crowd safety and access to and from the site. However, as the first day of the 2016 edition gets underway today, Geoff Ellis has told the BBC festival-goers should expect a much smoother ride this time.

“Moving a festival, that’s one of the biggest in the world, is a difficult feat,” he said. “We listened to all the customer comments. We got a lot of them and we’ve acted on what people told us.”

The Stone Roses’ headline gig is a part of their summer of live shows which has already taken in four nights at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium and a Madison Square Garden gig in New York. Calvin Harris and Red Hot Chili Peppers are topping the bill during the rest of the weekend.
