Haim have cancelled their summer European touring plans in order to focus time on concluding their second album.

It means festival appearances at Reading/Leeds and Electric Picnic, as well as others such as Frequency and Way Out West, will no longer happen.

“We’d hoped to be done with recording, but as it turns out we’re at a critical point of finishing up and need to stay close to home until it’s complete,” they’ve said in a letter posted up on social media.

“We hate to disappoint you guys that had plans to come see us and promise we’ll be back in the near future to share our new music with you.”

A bit like their debut album, Haim’s second record has been long in the making, but is set to be a more primitive affair than its predecessor according to an update given to Rolling Stone last month.
