Dolly Parton wants Jack White collaboration after White Stripes’ ‘Jolene’ cover

Dolly Parton wants to form a stronger connection with Jack White through a collaboration with the former White Stripes man.

The two parties have had a close link since the White Stripes’ glorious cover of ‘Jolene‘ formed a big part of the band’s mid-noughties period, and Parton has declared it ‘one of the greatest versions ever’ whilst telling The Guardian she would be interested in working with White ‘someday’.

“I love him to death,” she said. “The White Stripes did one of the greatest versions ever of ‘Jolene’. I had a chance to have dinner with Jack in LA not long ago and we talked about the possibility of someday down the road that we may get together to do something.”

“I haven’t had time to sit down and really focus with someone else on an album but he would be someone wonderful. And I think we would make some beautiful music together.”

Jack White released the acoustic albums ‘Live In Idaho‘ and ‘Live In Anchorage‘ through his Third Man Records’ Vaults subscription earlier this year, gigs which were a part of the ‘farewell’ tour after he had signalled his intention to retire from live performance.
