Bruce Foxton has been reflecting on the Jam reunion, of sorts, which could have happened during the About The Young Idea exhibition in London last year.

While Paul Weller remains steadfast in his aversion to any live comeback for the band, both he and Foxton were at the press day at Somerset House in London upon the launch of the exhibition in 2015, but the opportunity for a first public appearance together from all three members since their abrupt end in 1982 was thwarted by drummer Rick Buckler‘s no-show.

“That should have happened at Somerset House for the exhibition, I went with Paul on the press night, but Rick went when no-one else was there,” Foxton told Classic Pop (via NME). “That was a golden opportunity for Rick to turn up. No-one would have argued with the guy.”

“We’d have posed for photos as the three of us and it would have been great. That was a near miss, and it’s a shame Rick didn’t show up.”
