Arcade Fire headline Barcelona’s Razzamatazz festival, sans any new material

Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire were on stage for the first time in two years last night for their date with Barcelona’s Razzamatazz festival.

Despite aiming for a new album release ‘next spring’ according to the latest update given by Will Butler, there was no sign of anything from the recording sessions which have been going on since last year, instead it was a set packed tight with cuts from the most recent LPs ‘The Suburbs‘ and ‘Reflektor‘, as well as choice selections from ‘Neon Bible‘ and the modern classic debut ‘Funeral‘.

It was during a Reddit AMA session that Butler spoke about the next record, though he was generally non-committal and said simply that it will ‘be done when it’s done’.

‘Ready To Start’
