Jake Bugg wants you to know he’s been DIY-ing on his third album.

From the title, ‘On My One‘, to the regular reminders of self-production and solitary songwriting, he’s stepping away from the use of co-writers which brought commercial for his previous two records, and derision from some quarters (including a ‘heartbroken’ Noel Gallagher).

His days of collaboration could be completely over if we go by comments made to BANG Showbiz; most others he’d like to work with in the future are apparently no longer with us.

“Most of the people I’d like to collaborate with probably aren’t alive anymore,” he said. “We’ll just have to wait and see. I’m not the kind of person to go asking people. If people want to ask me and they have a pretty decent idea then I’ll maybe be up for it.”

Jake Bugg was confirmed as one of the headliners for Glastonbury’s John Peel Stage yesterday, and will tour UK academy venues in the autumn.
