Augustines‘ show at Rough Trade in New York today has been cancelled.
Frontman Billy McCarthy is laid up in hospital being treated for asthma and bronchitis, and is under doctor’s orders to rest for a week.
“NYC, it’s with great sadness I have to announce today the show tomorrow will be cancelled,” he wrote on Instagram yesterday. “I’m being treated for viral asthma and bronchitis (not pneumonia thank god). Whatever Eric got, I now have.”
“Dr’s orders are rest for a week. Augustines fans and friends, this won’t slow me or the band one bit don’t worry. I expressed my strategy of Jameson’s and just getting up there and handling our business. He shook his head and said no way unless I want to cancel a month of shows and told me to go to the ER.”
Augustines have been out promoting their new album ‘This Is Your Life‘, released earlier this month.
