Guy Garvey has told Radio X that Elbow are aiming to have their next album released ‘in February or March next year’.

Garvey has been ploughing a solo field since the band’s last LP – 2014’s ‘The Take Off and Landing Of Everything‘, their first UK number one – but he appears glad to be back in his more usual setting as they chisel away at a seventh studio record.

“As lovely as it is being the boss, you have no one to bounce ideas off that has a vested interest in your idea being the right one,” he said.

“When I’m sat in a room with Elbow, everything’s talked about. We could co-produce a cup of tea.”

Garvey’s debut solo LP ‘Courting The Squall‘ came out in October last year, described by Live4ever as ‘Garvey’s voice, not a collaboration or the coming together of like minds, but a series of personal notes being shared’.
