PJ Harvey announces New York, Los Angeles live dates

PJ Harvey will play shows in the US for the first time since her ‘Let England Shake‘ campaign back in 2011 this summer.

With that LP’s follow-up ‘The Hope Six Demolition Project‘ now out Harvey will visit the States briefly in August for dates at Terminal 5 in New York (16th) and Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall (18th).

Released last month, Harvey’s ninth studio LP handed her a first UK number one. “Harvey might sell as a solo artist, but community is the operative word here,” our review reads. “On almost every number her vocals buoy themselves on top of a hoard of backing singers, and to great effect.”

“Best of all are the tribally shuffles of ‘The Orange Monkey‘, both hypnotic and revealing of her restless state of mind for the entire album, one that “must travel back in time” and “write down what I find”.”
