Ashcroft is back with his first solo album proper in a decade on May 20th, and will join Noel Gallagher and Johnny Marr on the bill for Glasgow’s Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park on Friday, August 26th.

Speaking to Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music recently, he revealed plans are already well in place for his next solo LP despite the previous long gap between releases.

“The outro has just got a great atmosphere for the end of the record, bookends it with ‘Out Of My Body’, almost like a deconstruction of the psyche through the album,” he said. “Also leaves it open for the next record because it’s been a few years now so I’ve got a number of tunes ready to roll for the next one.”

“So I wanted to give that sense of, ‘it’s not the absolute full stop here, part one’s coming to an end, get ready for the next wave’.”
