There’s a Slaves attempt at a ballad; a ‘salad’, as they call it.

Backstage at the Irving Plaza during their recent trip to New York, and with tour-mates Wolf Alice booming out a soundcheck just a floorboard’s width above them, Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman renewed acquaintances with Live4ever to talk us through their second studio album.

It’s been over two years now since we first sat down with the inseparable pair at the 2014 South By Southwest Festival. Plenty has been achieved since, from the BBC Sound Of poll to a Mercury Prize nomination for the subsequent debut album ‘Are You Satisfied?‘.

Indeed, they tell us how the frustration of being a young band trying to make it in a cut-throat world has subsided during the intervening months, how at the same time more eclectic influences have started to seep in, but how at the heart of it all remains the ‘heavy’ sound which brought that early success.

Stay tuned for a Live4ever feature from the exclusive NYC interview.
