The Who will recall one of the most legendary festivals ever when they headline this year’s Isle Of Wight event over the weekend of June 9th-12th.

As pretty much the greatest live band on the planet at the time, The Who were an incendiary part of the infamous 1970 Isle Of Wight festival, and now return over 40 years later with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend in the twilight of their career and ready to call time soon on one of British rock’s greatest institutions.

“The Who are part of the fabric of The Isle of Wight Festival, and it’s great to welcome them back to the island as part of their ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations,” says organiser John Giddings.

“We’re proud to have a line up of home-grown headliners to help celebrate our own 15th anniversary and ensure that this year delivers yet another unforgettable weekend of music.”

Also added to the line-up is Richard Ashcroft, who’s preparing a comeback with new solo album ‘These People‘.
