Foals have shared the track which is to be released for the first time as part of this year’s Record Store Day.

Rain‘ can be traced back to the sessions for last year’s ‘What Went Down‘ album, and is due out as a 7″ split with the band’s take on Kevin Parker and Mark Ronson’s collaboration ‘Daffodils’ along with a mass of other special releases on April 16th.

Indeed, this new track from Foals is joined by other one-off goodies from the likes of David Bowie, Slaves, Nirvana, The Libertines, Interpol and Florence & The Machine, all of which will help to support the traditional vinyl format once again next month.

Record Store Day has been credited with kick-starting a significant boom in vinyl sales since its launch in 2007, with sales predicted to go past the two million mark during the twelve months of 2016.

Metallica are the global ambassadors this year, and will put out the live album ‘Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica! – Live at Le Bataclan. Paris, France – June 11th, 2003’.
