Biffy Clyro welcomed in 2016 by performing the brand new song ‘On a Bang’, fan footage of which can be seen below.
Having spent most of last year both resting up and working on a new album, the band made their live return with Idlewild and Honeyblood at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations, and head into 2016 with various European festival appearances already booked, including visits to Germany’s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park events in June.
Last month, frontman Simon Neil spoke to DIY about the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Opposites‘, describing it as ‘Deafheaven meets Tears For Fears meets Death Grips‘.
“My main aim of this record is that I want to make a record that sounds like Deafheaven meets Tears for Fears meets Death Grips,” he said. “I don’t know if we’ll get anywhere near it, but that’s the three touchstones of songwriting and sonic architecture that I want us to try and go for.”
