Trampolene have today (December 11th) released the track ‘Pound Land‘ as a free download for a limited time at this link.
‘Pound Land’ is described as ‘tipping a hat to Patti Smith’s ‘Birdland’, and was produced by Josh Green at Konk Studios. It will feature on the band’s latest mini-album ‘Pocket Album Four’, out through Mi7 Records next year.
It’s twelve months on now from the band placing at #1 on our Best Tracks list of 2014, when Jack Jones talked us through the origins of the track in question, ‘I Don’t Know‘.
“The riff was something I had been playing around with for ages, without knowing what to do with it,” he said. “Then, when we moved to London in the first year, we were practicing in the living room when these policemen knocked on the door and asked us to stay indoors because there was a riot going on in a nearby street – we were living in Hornsey by Wood Green.”
