The Stone Roses have swiftly added a third night at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium to their 2016 live comeback after tickets went on sale this morning (November 6th).
After much fevered speculation earlier this week, The Stone Roses confirmed their return for the Manchester dates and a headline appearance at T In The Park next summer on Monday, and to those initial plans have now added a third night at the home of Manchester City on Sunday, June 19th.
Fans had been hoping this week’s announcement would quickly lead to new music being shared by the band, to the backdrop of the promise of fresh material going right back to the announcement of their reunion in October 2011.
Alas we’re still waiting, though rumours about a long, long, long awaited follow-up to 1994’s ‘Second Coming‘ refuse to go away. The same goes for rumours about the band headlining Glastonbury 2016 – again, still very much unconfirmed.
Update: A fourth night in Manchester to precede all three previous gigs has now been confirmed for Wednesday, June 15th
