The Coral will play their first hometown show in five years when they headline the Sunday evening at Liverpool Sound City in May 2016.
“Sound City is a great festival and the setting is just incredible,” the band’s frontman James Skelly says. “We’re really looking forward to the headline slot and being back in Liverpool. It’s going to be a very special show.”
“The Coral have always been on our wish list and we are absolutely delighted they have chosen Sound City for their return,” Dave Pichilingi, Sound City CEO, adds. “We’re expecting some big scenes when they close the Atlantic Stage on Sunday night, facing out across the water to their Wirral home.”
“They are part of the DNA of this city and occupy a very special place in our hearts. It’s going to be a landmark show and one not to miss.”
Tickets for Sound City 2016 go on sale from 9am, Friday November 27th.
