Foo Fighters made good on their promise and performed a gig in Cesena, Italy yesterday (November 3rd).

After a fan-made video of Cesena locals performing a unique cover of ‘Learn To Fly‘ in a bid to persuade Foo Fighters to play a gig in their town was viewed over 25 million times on YouTube, the band’s frontman Dave Grohl confirmed last month that they had been won over and would visit soon.

“To see so many people put so much time, and effort, and love into making music moved me to tears,” he said in a statement.

“And the fact that it was a Foo Fighters song…well…it’s hard to put into words how humbled that made me feel. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful experiences of my entire life.”

Appropriately enough, the show opened with ‘Learn To Fly’ and was a typically mammoth undertaking by the group as they aired a 27-song set which closed with ‘Everlong‘.
