Noel Gallagher will be ably supported by Johnny Marr when he plays the Manchester Apollo in December as part of the newly-launched UK radio station Radio X’s first live tour.

Stereophonics, Bloc Party and The Courteeners have also signed up to the Radio X Road Trip, which was announced during the station’s first broadcast this morning.

Replacing the long-running XFM, Radio X’s new breakfast DJ Chris Moyles was joined in the studio by Gallagher as the tour was announced. His High Flying Birds will play the Apollo with Marr on December 2nd ahead of a relaunched world tour in 2016.

Stereophonics, meanwhile, play Bristol’s O2 Academy on November 3rd and Bloc Party are booked for the Glasgow O2 ABC on November 9th. The Courteeners headline the Leeds O2 Academy on November 23rd.

Gallagher and Marr have worked closely together on-and-off during the past year, firstly on Gallagher’s ‘Chasing Yesterday‘ single ‘Ballad Of The Mighty I‘, and more recently at Manchester’s Summer In The City event last July.
