Adele installed as new favourite to headline Glastonbury 2016

Adele is now one of the favourites to headline Glastonbury next year after a ‘flurry of bets’ on the singer who looks set to release a new album soon.

If we take Foo Fighters as pretty much certainties to perform at Worthy Farm in 2016 after their cancellation earlier this year, Adele’s evens odds make her the current front-runner according to Ladbrokes, with Coldplay next at 2/1.

As we suggested back in June when Adele’s odds were as big as 66/1, Glastonbury’s recent habit for springing a surprise, together with co-organiser Emily Eavis’ publicly stated desire for the event to spread its main stage wings further afield in the future, makes such a booking seem far more likely these days.

With this in mind, it’s worth mentioning that Ed Sheeran‘s odds have shortened significantly too; from 20/1 in June to 3/1 now. That’s the same price which Oasis still commands, despite Noel Gallagher stating once again this week that he holds little if no interest in a reunion for the band which split in 2009.
