Chvrches have released a lyric video from their second album ‘Every Open Eye‘ ahead of its release next month.
The video features the record’s opening track ‘Never Ending Circles‘ and immediately leaves traces of the band’s ‘Bones Of What You Believe‘ debut, something discussed by Martin Doherty during a recent interview with Pitchfork.
“After making one record that people really like, some bands reject the things that everyone liked about them and make some really deep, thoughtful, dark record – but I wanted to avoid making a ‘mature’ album,” he said.
“That said, it’s not like we’re making saccharine shite. There’s important lyrical content, and we’re still pushing the same emotional boundaries, but also trying to make it as accessible as possible.”
Chvrches will embark on a tour of the UK in November shortly after completing a spate of North American dates which is set to keep them in both the States and Canada throughout October.
