Emily Eavis looking forward to secret special guests at Glastonbury tonight

It’s no doubt always the most stressful weekend of her year, but Emily Eavis is this morning at least quietly content about one aspect of the 2015 Glastonbury festival – this being the identity of Florence & The Machine‘s replacements on the Pyramid Stage.

Originally due to play immediately before Foo Fighters tonight (June 26th), Florence Welch will instead be moving up one place to headline herself after Dave Grohl and co. were forced into a late cancellation due to the broken foot sustained by their frontman in Sweden.

As it stands, the band picked to quickly join Friday’s bill is still a secret, and Emily Eavis has told the BBC she is pleased fans will be in for a genuine surprise come 8pm this evening.

“There is definitely something filling that gap but under no circumstances will it be announced,” she said. “Luckily it’s been a proper secret, a proper surprise, which actually is quite hard to do now because things get out. But there are only about four people other than the band, that know about this.”

“Even people that work on the festival don’t know about it. They’re coming because they want to play Glastonbury and they’ve never done it before on the Pyramid Stage. That’s all I’m saying.”

It was Drenge who got the traditional pre-show party underway last night as special guests, performing at the Williams’ Green area before it all properly begins at 11am today.
