Brian Wilson has cancelled a proposed tour of the UK for September and will instead be back next year as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations surrounding The Beach Boys‘ landmark album ‘Pet Sounds‘.

In a press release, Wilson cites his commitment to new biopic Love and Mercy – which opens in the UK next month and stars Paul Dano and John Cusack as his younger and older self – as the main reason for the tour being pulled.

“I’m sorry I won’t be able to make these shows this year, but I look forward to seeing all my fans in 2016 to help me celebrate 50 years of ‘Pet Sounds’,” he states. “This will be my final European tour. I hope you all enjoy my movie when it opens in the UK on July 10, I’ll see you all soon. Best, Brian.”
