The Maccabees have unveiled some new music after two years of false starts recording a successor to 2012’s ‘Given To The Wild‘. Have a listen to ‘Marks To Prove It‘ below.

The band were talking about completing their fourth LP as early as May 2013, but ultimately only felt ready to declare work completed back in February, when they told NME:

“It just had to be good enough. We thought it was going to be finished a year ago, but it just weren’t quite there and now I think it’s magic, so it’s done.”

“The first single is maybe the quickest thing we’ve ever done. Quickest, loudest and also slowest, in parts. It’s opposite to ‘Give To The Wild’ in every kind of way, it sounds like a band in a room. I think the songs are a lot better.”

The Maccabees have also announced a quick run of UK tour dates which will visit Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London next month. The full details are:

MAY
Birmingham Institute (11)
Glasgow ABC (12)
Manchester The Ritz (13)
London Coronet (14)
