Jack White was joined onstage by singer/songwriter Jack Johnson as his acoustic tour of North America began in Alaska on Monday (April 20th).

White is playing gigs in locations he has never visited before on the short acoustic tour which is acting as his farewell ahead of a long, indeterminate break from the live scene.

“After many years of performing in a multitude of configurations, Jack White is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time,” a statement explained.

White will also visit Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota and North Dakota before waving goodbye to touring after ‘Lazaretto‘ followed up the runaway success of his 2012 debut solo album ‘Blunderbuss‘. He’s also found time to restart the Dead Weather and The Raconteurs recently following the White Stripes‘ demise in 2011.

His last conventional gig for some time was hosted at Coachella’s second weekend a few days ago.
