Graham Coxon and producer Stephen Street have sat down with Noisey to discuss the recording of Blur‘s comeback album ‘The Magic Whip‘.

Have a watch on Live4ever at the end of this article.

The pair reflect back on the earliest sessions in Hong Kong – a place which plays a prominent part in the final piece – to the finishing touches at Street’s London studios.

‘The Magic Whip’ is out on April 27th and sees Coxon joining Blur in the studio for the first time since 1999. “I view it as a great big positive punctuation mark,” he’s told Uncut of the record. “I don’t know whether it’s the full stop at the end of a book or whether it’s a full stop at the end of a chapter. I don’t think any of us know that yet.”

“That doesn’t mean any of us are going to stop making music. Music is a constant with us. Damon will make music whether it’s with Blur or doing other things, he’ll always be meandering along making music.”
