U2 have added a fifth night at the O2 in London to their ‘iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE’ world tour.

Despite the somewhat modest response to their latest studio album ‘Songs Of Innocence‘, U2’s attraction as a live band remains pretty much unrivalled, and they’ve now added another O2 gig on November 2nd to the previously confirmed dates of October 25th, 26th, 29th and 30th. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (February 6th).

These form a part of their first proper run of indoor gigs for over a decade, a tour which stays in North America for most of the spring.

Frontman Bono may still be recuperating from injuries he sustained in a New York cycling accident last November by the time the world jaunt gets underway. What had initially seemed like a fairly innocuous fall was later revealed to have resulted in serious facial and arm fractures – injuries which he’s said could prevent him from playing guitar again.

“Recovery has been more difficult than I thought,” he wrote on New Year’s Day. “As I write this, it is not clear that I will ever play guitar again. The band have reminded me that neither they nor Western civilization are depending on this.”
