Beth Jeans Houghton has unveiled her first piece of music under the new Du Blonde banner.
‘Black Flag‘ is available as a free download and offers the first clue about the embryonic Du Blonde venture ahead of a full length album which is expected in the spring.
“I feel no need to ease people in” Du Blonde says. “Black Flag is a good representation of the direction of the album. There are a few quieter, thoughtful tracks but the general mood is one of finally cracking. The record is a powerful release for me. It’s the result of finally sitting down and taking a look at my life, what I was angry about, what I needed to change.”
The album was produced by Jim Sclavunos, whose past credits include The Horrors and Live4ever’s much missed favourites The Jim Jones Revue.
There’s a couple of chances to catch Du Blonde live for the first time this weekend via appearances at Roundhouse Rising Festival in London and at the 6Music Festival in Newcastle.
