In March, Death Cab For Cutie will release their first album since last year’s departure of founder member Chris Walla.

After Walla produced each of the band’s previous seven albums, Rick Costey was brought on board for ‘Kintsugi‘, which is due for release on March 30th.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, frontman Ben Gibbard hopes their fans will be adapt to the new setup without too much trouble. “I completely respect and understand why people love ‘Transatlanticism’ or ‘We Have the Facts’ or ‘Narrow Stairs’,” he said.

“And I would hope that as we move forward, people listen with as little prejudice as they can and try to hear the music for what it is and not what they want it to be.”

Walla left the group after a final performance at the Rifflandia Music Festival in Victoria, British Columbia in September 2014. Despite leaving, he is expected to still feature prominently on the new album.
