‘Influenza’ forces Morrissey to cancel European tour dates

morrisseywideWell it wouldn’t be a Morrissey tour these days without some dates being cancelled, so it’s comforting to know that shows in France and Switzerland have been pulled due to what is described as ‘ongoing influenza amongst band and crew’.

“Due to ongoing influenza amongst band and crew members tonight’s show at Lausanne (Switzerland) cannot take place,” a recent statement posted to True To You reads. “It is hoped that the show will be re-scheduled for December. Tomorrow’s show at Basel looks unlikely, although Wednesday’s show at Hannover (Germany) remains firmly in place. Apologies are offered for any inconvenience.”

Morrissey’s tour is due to reach the UK later this month for a single date at the O2 Arena in London. The gig would end what has been another turbulent year for the singer on a much brighter note after he departed record label Harvest acrimoniously in the wake of ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business‘ release last July.
