The UK headline tour which began in Norwich last weekend will be Klaxons‘ last, the band have revealed on Twitter.

Just before dates kicked off at the Waterfront on Saturday evening (October 25th), a Twitter message was posted which read: “After what’s been nearly 9 bananas years we’d like to let you know that we’ve decided the upcoming dates will be our last headline tour.”

In many ways Klaxons’ career perfectly mirrors the fortunes of many bands who first found success during the middle part of the last decade; they hit the ground running in 2007 with their Mercury-winning debut ‘Myths Of The Near Future‘, but 2010 follow-up ‘Surfing The Void‘ didn’t quite hit those heights either commercially or critically while this year’s ‘Love Frequency‘ only just managed a place inside the Top 40.

Tour dates:

OCTOBER
Norwich, Waterfront (25)
Leeds, Cockpit (26)
Glasgow, O2 ABC (27)
Manchester, Academy 3 (28)
Brighton, Concorde 2 (30)
Bristol, Thekla (31)

NOVEMBER
Birmingham, O2 Academy 2 (1)
Nottingham, Rescue Rooms (2)
London, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire (4)
