During Australian live dates supporting his debut solo album ‘Everyday Robots‘, Albarn revealed he has performed something of a u-turn where Gorillaz is concerned, and is in ‘in the process of reactivating’ the project he first launched with Jamie Hewlett more than a decade ago.
Also, it seems a new album with The Good, The Bad & The Queen – the collective which includes The Clash’s Paul Simonon and The Verve’s Simon Tong – is ‘fully written’ and just needs to be recorded.
And if all that wasn’t enough, he’s left the door open for more activity with Blur; there’s ‘some kind of future’ for the band according to Albarn, but he remained cautious of going into anything too specific and concluded:
“I’m reluctant to say anything, because if I do, it just gets taken out of context and then I’m accused of being a wind-up.”
