A quiet week for new releases on the UK Album Chart looks set to hand Royal Blood an extended stay at number one.

The Brighton duo’s self-titled debut album went straight in at the summit last week, becoming the highest selling debut in the rock genre since ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds‘ of 2011 in the process.

And with the only new entries inside the Top 10 coming from Maroon 5 and The Pierces, according to the official chart update, the LP is on course to remain at number one immediately ahead of Radio 1 favourites Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.

Further back, Pulled Apart By Horses are heading for the Top 40 with their latest album ‘Blood‘.
