Footage of nine-year-old Pulp karaoke winner emerges

pulpFootage has emerged of the 9-year-old contestant who won a recent Pulp karaoke competition in New York judged by none other than the band’s frontman Jarvis Cocker.

The contest was put on as part of the airing of Pulp’s tour documentary A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets at Industry City in Brooklyn, and was won by Graham Johnson who performed his version of ‘This Is Hardcore‘, as seen in the video below. According to reports, other entrants included a woman dressed up as an old lady stripteasing to ‘Help The Aged‘.

“That was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever witnessed,” Cocker is quoted as saying of the winner. “It was a little disturbing but I will not forget that, ever,” adding that the event as a whole was, ‘A unique experience’.

Pulp: A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets follows that band’s 2011-12 live comeback, culminating with a hometown gig at the Sheffield Arena in December 2012.
