Metronomy announce December UK shows

Three UK dates in December will help bring an end to Metronomy‘s year – a year which has seen them release ‘Love Letters‘, their follow-up to the Mercury nominated ‘English Riviera‘.

The short trip begins on December 4th at the Glasgow Academy, and moves on to London’s Alexandra Palace a day later and finally the Albert Hall in Manchester on December 6th. Tickets are up for grabs from this Friday, July 11th.

The gigs will arrive after a bit of rest and recuperation for Metronomy as they get ready to start a long visit to North America in September. They’ll start on September 10th in Toronto and be living life on the road until October 26th.

Metronomy’s fourth studio LP was released in March and hit the UK’s Top 10. “Put bluntly, ‘Love Letters‘ is less of a progression than between any other Metronomy album to date; this however is a good thing,” our review reads.

“Recording in an all analogue studio (London’s Toe Rag) would probably have been considered a perverse choice for a band who’d been mangling electronics around since the beginning, but this lack of available trickery suits these songs, most of which are low key, fragile and blanketed by the weirdness of 21st century living. “
