Pete Doherty‘s going to be a busy boy this summer; added to the Libertines reunion shows which now run into October are three UK solo dates for July.

After two Libertines warm-up gigs in Glasgow on June 28th and 29th, Doherty goes it alone at the Nottingham Bodega on July 1st, the Oxford, Academy on the 2nd and the Bristol Fleece on the 3rd.

Once those are completed he’ll be back with The Libertines for their headline appearance at British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park on July 5th. It’s then onto Europe for more festival commitments at Benicassim and Optmius Alive before a headline tour of Europe – their first in a decade – begins in Paris on September 30th.

Speaking to the Daily Record this week, Doherty again outlined his desire for The Libertines to record a new album, describing that scenario as ‘the dream’. The group’s last studio release, in 2004, virtually coincided with his departure in a messy haze of drug addiction and inter-band problems.
