Paul McCartney will start his North American tour later than originally planned in order to buy him more time to recover from the illness which brought a recent Japanese trip to a premature end.

“Paul McCartney will regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows,” a spokesperson said when those shows were cancelled.. “Paul is still not feeling better and this cancellation is unavoidable.”

The dates postponed are in Lubbock, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Nashville and Louisville as McCartney now aims for a start date of July 5th and a show in Albany.

“I’m sorry but it’s going to be a few more weeks before we get rocking in America again,” Sir Paul says in a statement. “I’m feeling great but taking my docs’ advice to take it easy for just a few more days. Look forward to seeing you all soon.”

All being well, the rearranged US gigs will instead take place in October.
