Eric Clapton has apologised to fans after his gig at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow was apparently cut short on Saturday night (June 21st), reports WENN.

It would appear Clapton had performed for around an hour before walking off early citing sound problems. He then returned for the encore as planned thanks to technicians who were able to ‘reset’.

“Unfortunately, we experienced a steadily worsening technical problem with the PA system that the band battled with throughout the show,” a statement reads. “But by the last song of the set it became unbearable on stage and Eric was unable to complete that number.”

“During the encore break we were able to reset and the band finished as planned with the last number. Eric is nevertheless sorry for the break in the concert.”

“The production team for last night’s performance suffered a technical issue which resulted in the concert ending earlier than anticipated,” a spokesperson for the Hydro Arena adds.
