Paul McCartney cancels remainder of Japanese tour

Paul McCartney has now cancelled all his remaining Japanese tour dates due to ill health.

After the original gig at the National Stadium in Tokyo on May 17th, and its rescheduled date on May 19th, were both pulled promoters Kyodo Tokyo have now confirmed the rest of the tour will not go ahead.




“Paul McCartney will regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows,” they have stated. “Paul is still not feeling better and this cancellation is unavoidable.”

McCartney is said to be hoping his visit to Seoul, South Korea on May 28th will still go ahead as planned, with a long run of North American gigs due thereafter.

“Thank you so much for your kind messages of support,” Sir Paul said after the cancellation of his Tokyo gig. “I’m so very touched. Unfortunately my condition has not improved overnight. I was really hoping that I’d be feeling better today. I’m so disappointed and sorry to be letting my fans down. Love, Paul”
