Pulp‘s eponymous documentary film, which tells the story of the band’s Sheffield Motorpoint Arena gig in December 2012, will receive its European premiere in the city on June 7th.

Having been first played at South By Southwest in Texas last month, Sheffield’s City Hall will now show the film for the first time on European shores. The Screen Yorkshire funded movie has been described as a ‘day-in-the-life’ in featuring fan interviews and behind the scenes footage of the homecoming gig which brought to an end Pulp’s 2011-2012 live reunion.

“Music has been a big part of my life and we are delighted to be able to support this exciting project,” British Film Company founder Steve Milne remarked. “It’s the second feature documentary the new company has backed after BAFTA-nominated McCullin and the second music project after Stuart Murdoch’s God Help The Girl, which is currently in post production.”

As well as the City Hall screening, Pulp will be shown at select VUE, Odeon, Cineworld, Picturehouse and Curzon cinemas.
