Kasabian have become the second headliner to confirm for this year’s Glastonbury Festival, and will top the Pyramid Stage on Sunday, June 29th.

“We knew we were in the running which was amazing,” guitarist Serge Pizzorno says.

“Being in the running is fine but you don’t want to be in the race, you want to win it. You want to be on the podium. We got the phone call – I felt relieved because we’ve always wanted to do it from the first rehearsal, day one of the first rehearsal. We kicked into a tune and sort of went, ‘Glastonbury!’, a full on shout out.”

Kasabian join Arcade Fire at the head of the bill, while a further 86 names have also confirmed for the event this morning. Leading those are the likes of perennial Glastonbury darlings Elbow as well as Pixies, Jack White, Robert Plant, The 1975, Massive Attack, Manic Street Preachers, Bryan Ferry, Jake Bugg, Wilko Johnson and Interpol.
