The Kooks have returned with a new sound all of their own on ‘Down‘ – take a listen below.
Frontman Luke Pritchard has written the track and co-produced with the hip-hop artist Inflo. It was recorded in both London and Los Angeles.
“With this record we didn’t do any rehearsing beforehand,” Pritchard has said.
“I’d write a song with Inflo or on my own, put it up and we’d all play over it. There was a real freedom to the process.”
The Kooks were just one of many British bands to enjoy a significant degree of mainstream success back in 2006 when their debut album ‘Inside In/Inside Out‘ arrived in the January of that year.
They were last active studio-wise back in 2011 when ‘Junk Of The Heart‘ largely struggled to replicate that peak in hitting a height of #10 on the UK Album Chart.
