raydaviesTwo of the leading creative forces of the 1960s – The KinksRay Davies and Donovan – are to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame a little later this year.

The induction ceremony takes place at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City on June 12th, and will in addition see Graham Gouldman, ‘Suspicious Minds‘ and ‘Always On My Mind‘ writer Mark James and the prolific Jim Weatherly also inducted.

The recognition for Ray Davies is confirmed as rumours of a return for The Kinks gather pace with positive vibes being let out by both Davies brothers recently. Their famously volatile sibling relationship apparently took a turn for the better during a series of meetings last summer, while in an interview right at the start of last month, Ray told Uncut magazine that a return for the classic British band which finally ceased to be in 1996 is now ‘closer than ever’.
