Morrissey has announced two US arena shows for later this year – with each promising its own quite unconventional support act.
With a new record deal signed and sealed ahead of an expected new album release in the second half of this year, Morrissey has now shared concert posters with his fansite True To You which detail gigs at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on May 10th and Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 21st. According to the posters, LA will be treated to a supporting performance from Sir Tom Jones, while Brooklyn will sample the delights of his fellow knight of the realm, Cliff Richard.
Morrissey has found a home with the US-based Harvest Records in anticipation for a first studio release since 2009’s ‘Years Of Refusal‘ as recording sessions reportedly take place in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli.
One track already discussed by the singer is entitled ‘Istanbul‘ and inspired by one of his ‘favourite cities in the world’.
