Foals have become the second act to be confirmed as main stage headliners for this year’s Bestival event, while Beck will also be topping a bill at the festival on Thursday, September 4th.
Foals headline the Isle Of Wight event on the Saturday evening, immediately following the previously announced Friday night lead role for Outkast. Beck, meanwhile, heads the Big Top earlier on in the week.
As well as unveiling Outkast last week, Bestival also outlined the finer points of its theme for 2014, which will be ‘Desert Island Disco’.
“In 1977, a strange piece of flotsam washes up with the tide on an island somewhere in the South Atlantic,” a statement began. “The victim of a wild party hundreds of miles away, a giant and abandoned disco ball finally comes to rest on the beach. Squinting at the sunlight reflecting off its hundreds of mirrors, a tribesman gently lifts it from the wet sand, feels the tides turn, and runs it back to the elders.”
