Former Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin will continue his fledgling solo career with a short round of live shows next month.
Goodwin has his debut solo record ‘Odludek’ all wrapped up for release on March 24th, and now plans to shine a light on its make-up with gigs at The Duchess in York on February 24th, the Hebden Bridge Trades Club on the 25th, the Chester Live Rooms on the 27th and finally at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on February 28th.
Describing his solo plans late last year, Goodwin said: “As I got into making the record, it felt like I was proving something to myself, making a point that I could do all this on my own. You know — I can play bass, I can play guitar, I can orchestrate. As the methods changed, the original concept stayed intact. It’s me, powering through ideas, kapow kapow, no pause for breath. It’s not trying to be wilfully eclectic; it’s just a reflection of how I schizophrenically devour music.”
