Led Zeppelin have become the latest band to allow their entire back catalogue to be made available on Spotify.

The news was revealed by the music streaming service’s founder and CEO Daniel Ek during a press conference yesterday (December 11th), when he also confirmed Spotify is to be freely available on mobile and tablet devices for the first time – a move seen as a direct response to Apple’s new iTunes Radio platform.

“Today we’re giving people the best free music experience in the history of the smartphone and the tablet,” he said in a statement. “Whether you’re going to the gym, or having a party with friends. Just sit back and let Spotify serve you great music for every moment of your life.”

Last month, Spotify’s value was claimed to have risen to a cool $4 billion after the company secured a new wave of investment ahead of a planned global expansion push in 2014.
