The Arctic Monkeys have been confirmed as one of the main acts for the 2014 edition of Roskilde in Denmark.
The Sheffield band, winners of the Headliner Of The Year at the 2013 UK Festival Awards and now nominated for the same prize at the European Festival Awards, will top the bill when the event is held from June 29th to July 6th next year. Deerhunter, Haim, Pusha T, Trentmoller and Carcass have also confirmed appearances.
Arctic Monkeys are riding high in the wake of the release of their fifth album ‘AM‘ back in September, of which Live4ever’s review concluded:
“A defiantly risk taking chemical blend in the myriad of past and contemporary genres on offer produces thrilling results, continuing the trend with each passing record of subtle changes to maintain the listener’s interest,” the review continues.
“Turner’s initial modesty in his timid instruction to the nation to not ‘believe the hype’ now seems a lifetime away. This band will be revered long after they decide to call it a day, having lived up to the hype, and exceeded it, in astronomical proportions.”
